Third Shift Explanation
All the Third Shift entries, denoted by "Title -TS-Chapter #-" started as a book I wanted to write telling about my experiences as a third shift waiter at Steak & Shake, an all night diner. It seems to be turning into a collection of essays, mostly about individuals. I'm not revising them until I finish. I don't know when I'm going to finish, so I guess I'll commit to revising after I get 10 entries. Some of it is pretty bad. I recognized that when reading through them today. I can't get caught in the trap of rethinking my momentum though. I need to get 10 chapters done before I analyze their value and decide to continue or not. I notice a trend where I'm goofy in the writing until the last paragraph where I try to be profound. I would like to know if its working or not, or if it seems forced. I didn't do it consciously, so I think that is a good sign but I think I sound silly. Anyhoo, that's what they are, they start with "Third Shift - Intro" from September.
